Review of Following (1999) by William B — 05 Aug 2010
Christopher Nolan's first film--and it shows, which is not necessarily a bad thing.
It's an interesting watch especially if one is familiar with all of his other films. The disrupted narrative is used to good effect here, just like in Memento and The Prestige. The surprise ending is also here, just like in the other two movies.
The acting is pretty weak. The camera angles are interesting and he does a nice job with the story considering there are only three characters in the film.
If you have seen Memento, then it is worth seeing this one just to see how some of the elements here make there way into the Guy Pearce film.
