Review of Following (1999) by Dfw F — 20 Oct 2009
Jeremy Theobald plays a nameless young man, a scruffy fellow who dreams of being a writer. To overcome his loneliness, he starts following people. He follows them just to follow them, to see what their lives are like, what they do.
Anything to avoid writing. One day he follows the wrong guy, a sharp-looking, clean-cut fellow named Cobb (Alex Haw), who likes to burgle people's homes. He doesn't do it for the money, he says.
Trusting that the young man will understand, the smooth-talking Cobb explains that he burgles in order to experience other people's lives. To explore. To imagine. To revel in the violation. The young man finds himself with a weird new friend.
Interesting movie but the audio kept cutting out and skipping. I could fast forward a few seconds and sound back on. so I will have to order another copy to finish the viewing. ( I did not feel like subtitles and no sound what so every.
) Weird first DVD that ever did this..
