Before there was "TOPGUN" there was John Wayne and his Flying Leathernecks. Relying heavily on WW2 footage with some new flying sequences shot in apparently the same locale as the MASH TV series.
It's very much a 50's film and workd pretty well when Wayne is bantering with the older cast but the film discconects with him portraying the CO of the squandron of early 20ish fly boys.
