Review of Flowers in the Attic (1987) by Ryan J — 26 Jun 2009
This was a really terrifying and thought provoking film. I'm actually quite eager to read the book this film is based off of. Louise Fletcher did a wonderful job as the ultimate grand mother. Davis and Swanson acted quite well and so did their young counter parts. I just wished there was more character development or shall I say "Un development" on the mother's side. Her descent into the uncaring seemed rather artificial.
But besides that, this is a really great film. Beautiful set pieces and cinematography. Well directed.
