V.C. Andrews' classic teen novel of adolescent torment and forbidden love is brought to the screen in this adequete adaption. Louise Fletcher was absolutely brilliant as the sadistically religious grandmother.
The movie suits its purpose, but it is not nearly as fulfilling as the novel.
