Review of Florence Foster Jenkins (2016) by Peter F — 31 Aug 2016
I thought the film was masterfully done, and really pulled me in to th storyline. Cosmo McMoon's character was very intriguing. The only critique I have is the tawdriness of Sinclair's affair and the dance scene after FFJ's big night.
This was not a musical per se and to add this type of number into the movie cheapened it for me. The Art Deco sets were amazing, in addition to the sidewalk scenes from the 40's. Overall a very satisfying film, especially for those of us that are passionate about music, both good and bad.
