Meryl does a fine job on movies about the lives of women. Out of Africa of course, even Ricki and the Flash, and this one is right in there. Not a classic movie, but a classic bit of acting....probably another nomination.
It is an interesting story about an interesting woman in interesting circumstances. I liked it enough that I listened to Actual recordings of Florence that somehow managed to survive. Sorry, Meryl, but she was nowhere as bad as you were in your portrayal.
Hugh Grant delivers in a workmanlike fashion.
