Review of Florence Foster Jenkins (2016) by John M — 20 Feb 2017
It's not a comedy but it is comical. A delightful tale based on true events about a maiden patron of the music society in New York City during the 40's.
The cliff notes summary is that our character believes she is a talented and gifted singer and because she has been so generous to the music society her friends and husband have gingerly protected her from the harsh reality of her abilities, or lack there of.
The tide turns however when she decides to put on a free performance for veterans at Carnegie Hall.
The supporting characters make the movie both hilarious and heartfelt at the same time.
