Review of Flirting with Disaster (1996) by Benjamin J — 15 Nov 2010
I thought I'd hate it because it starred Ben Stiller, but it turns out that I thought it was moderately OK. It's a film that you think should be funny, but you don't actually end up laughing out loud at it.
Nothing in there is really that hilarious and there's some bland attempts at shock humour (Arquette giving Stiller a blowjob as he holds their baby is one example) but largely it's just like an old 80s roadmovie comedy with cheap tits and ass gags, but for a more sophisticated David Mamet watching generation.
Not painful, but you could probably spend your time doing something more useful.
