The potential was there for the fairly uninspiring love at first sight story to ascend from mediocrity level. While the cast is arguably fine, the dialogue and plot is plain unengaging. Apparently based on a young adult novel, "The Wonder Years" fans will instantly recognise it as a poor rip off.
