In all there was more about this movie to like than to dislike. For starters, I love the concept behind this movie. How does one lose a child on an airplane in mid flight? And more importantly, why? Add to this novel idea a great performance by Jodie Foster and a hauntingly suspensful look and feel to the film and the ingredients are there for a great movie.

Unfortunately, the story doesn't deliver as well as the rest of the film. What we end up with is a story with two very different halves. The first half, where the mystery is laid out and the suspense built, is as well done as the rest of the movie. Unfortunately once all the pieces are in place, the story becomes as predictable as it is unbelievable. One goes from eagerly awaiting the mystery to be solved to eagerly awaiting the end of the movie. And the end doesn't come soon enough.

If you plan on viewing this movie, I suggest you watch it until you think you've figured out the mystery and then switch it off. You'll save yourself 30-40 minutes and end up with a much better movie than if you had watched the whole thing.
