Review of Flight World War II (2015) by Preston L — 22 Sep 2015
Flight World War II was another one of those movies that pop up in your Netflix suggestions and since I had moderate success with the last few I viewed it. The story is of a modern day passenger plane that hit's a storm and travels back in time to the middle of a French and German dogfight from 1940. They must race against both the enemy planes AND their dwindling fuel supply to get back home safe and sound.
Things I Liked:
The Premise. I thought the movie had a fairly interesting idea. Plane goes back in time and has to survive the rigors of history. It was interesting enough to get my attention.
Things I Didn't Like:
Pretty Much Everything Else. This movie is terrible! The cast is subpar overall. The story is stupid. The stakes are non-existant, and there are like 10 subplots they try to set up that never get resolved. This movie makes similar film Snakes on a Plane look like a high caliber story.
Overall. Overall this movie was a big ol' waste of time. The characters are never fleshed out so we don't learn enough to care about them. The premise is only good enough to hook you. The story is boring and overly complicated for no reason. The stakes on the fate of the plane never get tense enough for you to really think they are in danger and by the end you are praying for the movie to end.
