I like the original and I like this one too. If push came to shove and I had to select which to watch it'd be this contemporary version as I think it's got a better sense of pace. Yes it's more action movie than character drama, but the original film feels too long, whereas this feels just right.
Actors are okay, Ribisi is fun to watch giving Quaid orders and at the end of the day I'm entertained.
