Review of Flight (2012) by Jennifer J — 10 Oct 2014
Even though Washington is pretty good as the main character, it is the character itself that makes this movie enjoyable. Whip Whitaker is an alcoholic airplane pilot and after his plane collapses in mid-air, he manages to crash land plane saving almost everyone on the plane.
The only problem is that he was drunk while flying, and as the film goes on he keeps drinking and that leads him into one situation after another. It is an interesting character study and the viewer gets to make a choice, rooting for him or wanting him to go to prison.
Either way it is a brilliant character from the moral perspective. Altough that the films love story felt very forced and I didnt like the woman and some times the dialouge sounded a bit cheesy.
