Review of Fletch (1985) by Daniel V — 12 Apr 2013
Can anybody ever duplicate Chevy Chase? His sarcastic dry silly wit so specifically delivered that it would be criminal to ever try and recast one of his iconic characters. So please leave Clark W. Griswald(Making a movie about Rusty, that's ok), Ty Webb(nananana.
..) and I.M. "Fletch" Fletcher alone, thank you very much. What sets Fletch apart from any Chase comedy or any other comedy for that matter, is that despite having some very slapsticky and zany moments, there is some serious flimmaking going here.
Plus it sports one of the greatest film scores conducted by 80's Master-synthesizer Harold Faltermeyer. Don't make Fletch Won, he already did in 1985.
