Review of Flash Point (2007) by Aron K — 17 Jan 2009
The action scenes were really quite good. What I love about asian cinema is that the fight scenes never look polished or rehearsed, they always have a dirtier "street" feeling to them which makes them seem much more realistic.
Also, it seem EVERY asian martial artist does his own stunts and often they appear to be stunts that guarantee actual injury no matter how you do it, which adds a lot of appeal to me. My major beef with this film was the story seemed to jump from place to place and it was relatively unclear what was actually going on for the first half of the movie.
Not the best of asian film I have seen recently, that is for sure. The love interest in this movie is drop-dead gorgeous, perfect. The action scenes were very well done... The continuity of the story was just too sparatic.
