Review of Flags of Our Fathers (2006) by Lee B — 06 May 2009
I had the inclination to watch this again when I found out Jamie Bell was in it. I didn?t realize he was in it at first when I saw it. But I first saw this on an international flight, so I did want to see it again to see if it had great photography. And it was pretty good but too much of it looked CG. But great performances by the 3. And Billy Elliot is in it. Letters is still the superior of the two, but this one had a good go of how battles affect people and how they can easily get a feeling of a country depending on them.
Eastwood had a groove for these movies, but this one suffers just slightly from the war scenes not having the emotion that the others do. It?s sad to say that the majority of war film buffs are probably desensitized, but it?s true. And Adam Beach is a great actor. A slightly hammy role, but still good.
