The book was much, much better. Quite disappointing, but it is not all bad. The cinematography was certainly lacking, sometimes glaringly so. The acting isn't bad, but isn't good either. It felt drawn out and at times, to be blunt, very boring and overly sentimental.
But, for the most part this film accomplishes what it wants to, but it could have been executed in a much better way.
