Review of Flags of Our Fathers (2006) by Peter C — 17 Dec 2009
A refreshingly, engaging tale of the Battle of Iwo Jima. The fact, that this is only the first part of a two-sided story, makes one wonder, why past war films only concentrate on one side. The battle sequences are superb, and the way the story is told, works perfectly for this kind of content.
The electrifying chemistry between the actors, and the strong anti-war message, makes this one of the best "unpatriotic" war films of this decade.
