It was an OK movie....I will give it a B because it at least tried to focus on character development and not horrible war movie schlock. But in the end it came off as a bit cliche and, at times, a little boring.
Letters from Iwo Jima was much more successful in this goal but, sadly, had little appeal to the American audience who utterly hates subtitles. I mean...people don't go to the movies to read!
