Review of Five Easy Pieces (1970) by Seth H — 26 Jun 2007
Jack Nicholson in the role that shaped him. Not a movie for people who want something fast-paced. It's very meandering as a lot of 70s cinema was and Rafelson is by no means a mainstream director. What we do have is a wonderful portrait of the modern American male trying to find some sort of meaning in society.
Definitely a film that Garden State borrows from heavily and in a way, waters down.
