Review of Five Easy Pieces (1970) by Jon G — 26 Feb 2008
Abundant with dark humor. Nicholson's Robert, subsequently, is as hard to like as much as he is to dislike. Anyone else might not have approached his situation like a giant asshole, but it would be pretty frustrating nonetheless.
He admits to not being 'nice,' but really, it excuses him from any attempt at decency, all his charisma aside. Nicholson's character is the devil on our shoulder most tell to 'hush' but would discretely love to indulge.
