Review of Five Easy Pieces (1970) by Enrico C — 16 Jan 2009
The story of Robert Eroica Dupea, a former pianist tha, coming from a high-class family (in which every member as a middle name that comes from a composition), has decided to leave his life as musician and start working in California in the petrol pumps.
When he knows that his father's condition is getting worse, his life needs to take another turn. Quite schematic in the way of describing the relationships between different classes, the film gives its best in the actors' work.
Not only Jack Nicholson, but Karen Black too is remarkable. Photography by Lazslo Kovacs.
