Review of Fist Fight (2017) by Shereen R — 17 Mar 2017
"Fist Fight" is the tale of a pushover teacher (Charlie Day) who pisses off a fellow teacher (Ice Cube) after Cube destroys his classroom in a bout of anger. Cube challenges Day to a fight after school, and Day finds ways to try to get out of it.
This film doesn't break any new ground in comedy. I didn't even think this was a good film until the end when I gained a newfound respect for the movie. Without spoiling anything, I'm just going to say that the ending gives the movie a sense of purpose.
It's not a perfect film by any means. Some of the jokes fall short, and the movie is nothing special comedically, but it comes together in a big way by the end ------------------------------------------------------ B.
