Review of First Sunday (2008) by John M — 12 Sep 2008
Oh black comedy. Obviously, I'm not the market for this. All the jokes, to me at least, fall flat, but at least they're not eye roll flat. Katt Williams has a couple of decent lines, but overdoes it.
The relationship with Ice Cube and his son is heavy-handed and feels like it belongs in a different movie. I can't really see who the demographic for this movie is besides black people; it's an all-black cast filled with stereotypes, including the one, obligatory token white guy trying to keep the black man down.
