Review of First Sunday (2008) by Shawn C — 19 Mar 2009

We recently rented First Sunday, not sure what to expect. It turned out to be a funny movie with heart. The casting is good. I actually like Ice Cube a little more each movie I see him in. The interesting thing about this movie is that the writer/director, coming from a church background, was able to portray church culture and church people realistically without negative stereotyping or being preachy.

It's all just a natural part of the story. For that fact alone, it may be worth watching to some. Nevertheless, it does not approach the realm of "great.".
