Review of First Man (2018) by Chris R — 05 Nov 2018
I don't know what to say. I expected much better from the director and cast. This was a story about a man who became emotionally closed off after the deaths of his 2 year old daughter, 6 fellow test pilots and 3 fellow astronauts.
The way Gosling portrayed Armstrong, he must have been autistic. I watched the moon landing live. The whole point was we beat Russia to the moon after a decade long race where they beat us to everything: satellites, manned space voyages, space walks, etc.
The first thing they did was put up the flag! The moon landing was not a victory for humanity, it was a victory for the US of A! What a load of Hollywood crap! Nothing redeeming in this shaky-cam mess.
