Review of First Man (2018) by Szep H — 03 Nov 2018

While the acting and story were compelling, I left feeling a bit depressed. Felt like they had somehow turned my childhood hero into a very competent but regular man with quite a few flaws stumbling to the finish line. The NASA space program is portrayed as a bunch of really smart bumblers who somehow manage to get us there. Maybe that is how it was but I want my heroes back.....

P.S. Not a great movie for kids - things were fairly sedate until his wife drops a big F-bomb that I didn't see coming. Had to talk about that with my son on the way home also.
