Review of First Man (2018) by Adrien B — 26 Oct 2018
At the end of the movie, of course where the stupid lazy ass title screen was, I looked up the director and it goes to show he doesn't know how to make a space movie. The director of Whiplash can't do it right.
There were lots of shaking camera with lots of close up shots with the characters and hardly any wide shots and the filters they put on those did not help it all. It just made it worse. I kind of wanted to see how Neil Armstrong actually did his moon mission but this was not the way it was suppose to be done.
They probably ran low on budget and did it the cheap way. There were also very few wide shots of any of the space related scenes and hurt the film even more. Also lots of boring dialog and did not like any of the characters except for Neil, who was just ok.
A good thing I can say is that I really liked the music when they were about to land on the moon. I would probably get the score for myself to listen to later. Overall, a terrible space movie, worse than interstellar and probably just a tad better than Gravity.
