Ryan Gosling plays Ryan Gosling like only Ryan Gosling knows how. All the period and technical accuracy is no match for the cinematography shouting CAMERMAN! CAMERMAN! CAMERAMAN! CAMERAMAN! as 95% of the movie is shot through wobbling telephoto close-ups.
Quickly tiresome.
