Review of First Knight (1995) by Lucas Y — 24 Aug 2008
I saw this because Connery is in it and Connery is the only good thing about this. I have never had huge issues with Richard Gere although I have never liked his acting but to me he was horribly cast in this and he acted horrible.
Even Ormond seemed to overact a bit especially the love scenes between her and Lancelot. It offers a slightly different take on the King Arthur legend by focusing more on the Lancelot/ Guinevere story and forming their relationship before Arthur.
But I was never interested in that part of the story so... And the history aspect sucks. Lancelot especially seems too modern day and that has to be written somewhere... it can't all have been Gere's horrible acting.
