First Kill is a forgettable action thriller with bad acting, boring action, and a cliché story.

The plot follows Will (Hayden Christensen) who plans on taking his family out on a hunting trip. After the incident with his son being bullied in school plants the idea that a hunting trip will help his son. Once they reach Will's hometown were police officer Marvin (Bruce Willis) was once friends with Will's father. There has been a bank robbery that went wrong when Levi (Gethin Anthony) hid the money and loses the key before corrupted officers are hot on his trail. Will and his son witness Levi being attacked by the corrupt officers. Which Levi escapes, stealing Will's car with his son inside. Will stopping at nothing to go after Levi to rescue his son with corrupt officers being on a cat and mouse chase.

First Kill is a terrible straight to DVD movie which is not surprising about the quality of the film. The plot is cliché. Will's son being bullied and therefore lets take him out on a hunting trip to make him less afraid. Seems kind of cheesy with the logic. The whole theme of the film is about overcoming fear in any scenario's. Especially, when Will son is kidnapped by Levi which did not look like an intimidating kidnapping. When Levi is not threatening or wanting to hurt the kid. When he is giving the kid lessons about overcoming his fears on being bullied.

The acting performances are terrible. Hayden Christensen has never been a good actor. He seems to be the same character in all his movies. And his career has never took off after being in the Star Wars prequels. It is difficult to find him believable as a hunter. Even when he plants the idea to his son that he was raised and grew up hunting with his own father. It just was not believable. Bruce Willis is becoming a washed out actor as well. Seems like the Die Hard days are over when he is joining terrible films like this. Genthin Anthony was decent with his character. It has been bugging me throughout the whole movie cause he seemed familiar and just realized he was in Game of Thrones. He tried with his performance at what he could with a lackluster script.

The thrills and action in the movie is dull. It adds nothing new to the genre and its shoot em up climax.

Overall, First Kill is a bad film. The plot is forgettable. The performances are paper thin terrible. The action and thrills are boring.

I rate the film 2 out of 5 stars.
