Review of First Blood (1982) by Jeff H — 01 Aug 2010
I went to see this movie in theatres to laugh at its over-machoness. I saw it, and believe it to be one of the greatest films I have ever seen. It is probably my favorite movie. Put aside your prejudice, put aside Stallone's other films, and buckle down for a thrilling movie.
This movie is a mostly realistic look at a highly trained war veteran who has been mentally and physically tortured overseas, and abused at home. What happens when a warrior snaps? What happens when survival becomes priority over petty people and petty bullies? I swear, put aside your Rambo prejudice and watch this.
