Certainly belongs in any conversation of the greatest films ever made where a Vietnam war hero gets hassled in "Jerkwater USA" because the local town sherriff doesn't like his appearance.
One of the very few films where I make sure to watch all of the closing credits, thanks to the stirring song "It's A Long Road" by Dan Hill.
