First Blood gives us a lot of colorful actions scenes of stunts and explosions. It is fun to watch and great popcorn entertainment. But the acting is subpar and the whole story seems unnecessary. By the end it tries to be a sort of "war at home" movie like the Deer Hunter.
I liked it, but it was a little too preachy and monotonous for me to really recommend it.
