It suprises me that so many people in my age group(25-30)have just gotten around to seeing this movie,this is a movie I first saw at the tender age of 5 and have watched at least once a year ever since.
With each subsequent viewing I gained a deeper understanding not only of the plot but of the subtext present throughout.however you may feel about the sequals(sadly the second one is the movie most people unfamiliar with the material base their opinion of this charachter)this film stands alone as a self contained statement with a definate beginning,middle and end.
I dont feel the need to write a proper review since plenty others have offered as good a review as anything I could come up with,im just glad to see people come around to appreciate this original vision which I keep noticing people were not expecting before seeing it.
