Review of Firewall (2006) by J L — 07 Oct 2009
There have been many thriller family dramas in Hollywood lately and it feels like when you've seen one of them you've seen them all. This movie in particular made me think of Hostage with Bruce Willis, which is a much better movie than this one.
I will not recommend Firewall because it is entirely predictable with a happy end (yawn!). Bad front guy kills bad helper guy, this happens in all movies but why oh why can't Hollywood let it happen to kill a child for once? Is that really too shocking? At least it wouldn't be predictable and it will be much more true to real kidnappings where everything ends up not so bloody happy.
At least the acting was good in this movie.
