Review of Firestarter (2022) by Acidcasual — 16 May 2022
You could tell even with the initial plot making scenes that this wasn’t a film that was going to focus on acting and visual language. I don’t know if it was the acting or the mix of direction and editing - but either way it didn’t feel authentic. It felt like an obvious Nexflix movie and not a film made for cinema.
The angles and sets, didn’t utilise the space to really make it feel cinematic.
The film, did pick up to a steady speed until the end, then it just droned home, with a blend of not that exciting fighting and no sense of direction.
Effron, meh.
