Review of Fires on the Plain (1959) by Irvin C — 05 Jul 2007
A real harrowing depiction of the horrors of war from the point of view of the Japanese during World War II in the Philippines as a group of soldiers who took desperate measures to survive a losing war.
Gorgeously shot, this movie really stays with you. One of Ichikawa's masterpieces.
