Review of Firefox (1982) by Clifford H — 25 Dec 2012
IMHO, the greatest spy-thriller of all time. It's the best of the classic 007 plots (For Your Eyes Only) minus any unrealism and sexy distraction. Of course, I disliked the film when it came out: lots of talky dialogue scenes between boring men in dark boring rooms.
It sure wasn't Star Wars. Upon rewatching it, I expected it to be terrible as films forgotten by time usually are, but I was pleasantly surprised. No plot holes here, and what cliches there might be are as charming as any one might find in a Bond film.
The plot is clear and danger is real.
