Review of Fire and Ice (1983) by Kelly F — 10 Jun 2007
Something of a childhood favourite, not so much a good film as it is slightly entertaining because the animation is so well done. The process (which is something oddly unique to Bakshi) is called "Rotoscoping".
Rotoscoping is basically filming the movie on a blue screen and drawing over it. Mind you, how they found a chick hot enough to play the lead in real life... I'll never know. The plot is a bit stock really, it's wizards and evil and shit.
If you're a barbarian nut like I am then feel free to give it a looksie. By the way, the second disc has a tremendous documentary on Frank Frazetta worth the price of the set.
