Review of Fire and Ice (1983) by Mike H — 21 Mar 2011
When rotoscope animations die and go to heaven, this is what they become. As far as story is concerned, you're looking at your everyday straightforward violent fairy tale, but if you're at all familiar with the name Frank Frazetta, that's the appeal: the fantasy illustrator now puts his illustrations in motion without being drained utterly by an epic and without squabbling over underlying themes.
Aided by collaboration with Ralph Bakshi, decent voice-over actors, and one of the all-time strongest musical scores in a motion picture, the result is surprisingly entertaining.
