Review of Fire and Ice (1983) by Conner R — 29 Jun 2010
Based on Frank Frazettaâ??s classic painting, Fire and Ice is an animated action fantasy classic loaded with brilliant Frazetta monsters, barbarians, busty beauties, and demonic cavemen. The rotoscope animation is beautiful, expertly colored, and gorgeous in detail.
Director Ralph Bakshi manages to recall archetypal Frazetta figure stances harkening back to other brilliant paintings like The Frost Giants and the Death Dealer paintings. If you are a fan of fantasy, animation, or simple adventure than Fire and Ice is a must see.
