Review of Finding Neverland (2004) by Chantal J — 16 Mar 2010
I watched Finding Neverland for the first time in 4 or 5 years today, and I can't remember the last time I cried so much watching a movie. Gorgeous art direction and costumes, a seamless melding of historical biopic and fantasy scenes, and perfect performances make Finding Neverland a stand-out film.
Johnny Depp shines, and Kate Winslet makes the most of a fairly straightforward role, but the real star is Freddie Highmore, who tugs at the heartstrings with every line he utters. He's simply fantastic.
The score is stunning beautiful, as well.
