Toys, bugs and monsters. How could you create a new world as creative and memorable to be worthy addition to your resume? The answer is so simple: The Ocean.

Marlin is a clown fish that due to the laws of nature, he´s left alone in the task of raising his son Nemo, but when Nemo gets to the rebellious part of boyhood he gets kidnaped by a group of scuba divers, thus beginning a quest where Marlin will travel throughout the entire ocean and survive the dangers it contains just to see his son again and bring him back to safety.

To be honest, when "Finding Nemo" was released it was the first time that Pixar disappointed my kid self, I found it a boring follow-up of my childhood favorite "Monster´s Inc." but once I grew up I realized that I was so wrong. "Finding Nemo" has breathtaking animation, beautiful visuals, numerous characters that managed to be memorable even if their screen time is short or they don't even say a word, our lead character Marlin is both sympathetic and tragic, the story is Pixar´s first attempt to make a full on drama with some comedy in it (not the other way around as their previous films were) and they managed to create a heartbreaking story that will make you cheer, it has that perfect balance of various storylines that made "Toy Story 2" as great as it was, the action sequences were crafted perfectly, the amount of detail that went into the making of a realistic/colorful ocean setup is jaw dropping, the comedy completely works, numerous themes that will connect with parents more than with kids (thus the reason I really didn't like this film that much as a child), pacing that knows when to take a breath or when to be fast/actiony, and the voice actors deliver spot on performances for their weird/fun characters (Not only DeGeneres).

"Finding Nemo" is undeniably one of the best Pixar films (I will say that it their second best film by the time this review was written), this an animated film of oceanic proportions. One of the best animated films ever made and a masterpiece that will continue to swim into the childhood of future generations and into the history of cinema.
