Review of Finch (2021) by Dawdlingpoet — 07 Aug 2022

This film reminded me very much of 'I Am Legend' from early on - only, obviously, this stars Tom Hanks, not Will Smith and there aren't really any zombies around but it deals very much with isolation and a barren (once urban) environment.

There's some quite poignant dialogue and Hanks shows his characters vulnerabilities well, even if not saying too much in certain moments. It is surprisingly moving at times. I thought the robot reminded me slightly of Wall-E from the Pixar film of the same name - his basic questions relating to/querying human emotion are quite touching.

It is thoughtful and sobering...a decent film worth seeing if you can, yes.
