Decent performances and visual effects elevate an otherwise dry post apocalyptic road trip movie that struggles to find originality with so many other stronger examples within its genre (the road, wall-e, I am legend etc) and also mixes in the 'human teaches a robot to be human' trope from films like short circuit/ chappie etc.
It's entertaining at best and just a bit dry and unchallenging to watch at its worst.
