I saw the Director's Cut a much better film overall because they added and revised scenes that where cheap or lacking story wise. Such as cloud defeating Sephiroth that easily the complete version has him getting man handled before finishing him.
Another thing they improved was the character's interactions with one another and cloud's problem about moving on from the past and they spent plenty on why he has a reason to feel guilty. Overall folks buy the Blu Ray Director's Cut of the film as it shows more than the original release did.
