The story is alright, and the action is definitely over-dramatic in most cases. However, the CGI in Advent Children is nothing short of AMAZING. It gets a lot of points from me for that, and I'm usually a somewhat picky critic of CGI.
I also agree with another review that I noticed: the plot can be slightly hard to follow if you're not as familiar with the games. But still... impressive animation work throughout.
