Review of Filth (2013) by Matt T — 04 Oct 2013
Depraved. And all the better for it. Filth is a new low in cinema. It's unflinching, and will show you things that you just don't want to see. McAvoy plays a corrupt policeman, who is teetering on the brink, and we watch him fall.
All of the supporting cast are like McAvoy - excellent (although it was a bit strange seeing Billy Elliot AND his Dad in VERY different roles). The stand out is Eddie Marsden, who steals every scene that he is in.
Filth is a film that is truly a Daily Mail worrying hardcore roller-coaster ride.
